The cost for a full year of education including tuition, books meals and accommodation is $15,000. These are 4 year scholarships resulting in a total cost of $60,000 per student.

The Foundation announces the launch of a $1 million Endowment Fund Campaign to ensure their much needed scholarship program continues well into the future.

The Foundation’s goal is to award two new full scholarships each year beginning in the fall of 2010. With the downturn in the traditionally strong logging and fishing industries, the communities of Haida Gwaii are struggling with an unemployment rate in excess of 70%.

As a result, graduating high school students from these communities have extremely limited opportunities to pursue post secondary education and realize their educational and career goals.

Your gift will help ensure that the best and brightest from this area are sufficiently prepared to provide the leadership these communities will need in the future.
